The Lavender Farm

Pickstock, Shropshire

System Size: 30kWp Ground Mount
Inverter & Storage: 25kW Fox Hybrid Inverter with 29kWh Fox Battery Storage
Annual Site Usage: 25,000kWh
Mounting System: Cornish Rocker Ground Mount

About this project

The Lavender Farm in Pickstock approached NPES Solar with a goal of reducing their reliance on the grid, cutting energy costs, and making their operations more sustainable. With an annual electricity usage of approximately 25,000kWh, they required a robust and efficient solution that could deliver consistent savings year-round.

Our Solution

NPES Solar designed and installed a 30kWp ground-mounted solar PV system, utilising the Cornish Rocker frame – known for its durability, adjustability, and suitability for rural or uneven terrain. This was paired with a 25kW Fox hybrid inverter and 29kWh of Fox lithium battery storage, allowing the farm to store excess generation for use during the evening and low-sunlight periods.

The hybrid setup ensures that the farm can maximise the value of their solar energy production, with intelligent load management and future scalability built in.

What we achieved

Significant Energy Bill Savings

The system is sized to offset nearly 100% of the farm’s annual energy consumption, significantly lowering electricity costs.

Battery Backup

The inclusion of 29kWh of battery storage enhances self-consumption and reduces grid dependency during peak periods.

Sustainability Impact

The system contributes to substantial carbon savings, supporting the farm’s commitment to environmentally responsible practices.

Grid Independence

The hybrid system improves energy security, which is especially valuable in rural locations with variable supply reliability.
